SST® 3-Color Barrel E-Coat Line

This job was the first SlideRail Square Transfer (SST®) E-coat barrel line where the product was cured in the barrel itself. A SlideRail Square Transfer is a system where the parts index along a pair of slide rails, rather than a chain conveyor. Racks of product suspended from load bars raise and lower in and out of the processing tanks simultaneously, and move in unison through the finishing process. For this job, TTX patented the method of barrel E-coating. In short, the E-coat line is for small parts and includes a series of load carriers, with each having a rotatable shaft supporting a barrel with parts to be treated. This system provides low cost and effective grounding for the barrels and minimizes maintenance costs.
